Mailing Instructions

We love receiving packages; however, please read these instructions carefully, because we are penalized (we pay high taxes and spend several hours in long lines) if we are sent packages bigger or heavier packages than the following limits. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but it's the rules of Ecuador.
  • Cards and letters go through the mail as normal. Please do not send cash to us. Any mail in Ecuador can be opened. If you wish to send checks please look at that information under our link "How to support the Hall's ministry." (And we thank you in advance for your interest!)
  • Send only packages 3.5 pounds or less in a manila envelope or small/thin box. Mark the green customs label as follows: "family gift--no value" (no matter what it is). If the people here think that this item is something that we can resell, they'll charge us a heavy tax duty on it. It's also best if the items don't have price tags, etc.
  • If you want to send something bigger or heavier than 3.5 lbs., it's best to mail it to a person flying into Quito. You'd have to let us know when you want to send something, and we'll email back a US address. It takes a bit of coordination but it's definitely the best way.
Our mailing address is:
Stan Hall (please don't use titles such as Rev. or Dr.)
Casilla 17-11-05027
Quito, Ecuador
